ERI Achieves Two Green Impact Silver Awards

The Energy Research Institute (ERI) was awarded two silver awards for the Green Impact Scheme 2013/14 in both the general and the laboratory categories. ERI Green Impact members, Heather Strachan and Rachael Brown attended the Sustainability Awards. It began with a drinks reception and a welcome talk by Dr Louise Ellis (Head of Sustainability). The Sustainability Awards were then presented following a short, encouraging talk by Vice Chancellor, Sir Alan Langlands and then a dinner. The evening concluded with the Green Impact Awards, presented by Dennis Hopper (Director of Facilities Management) and Dr Louise Ellis (Head of Sustainability) where ERI received their two silver awards.

ERI’s current Green Impact Team consists of Heather Strachan, David Haynes, James McKay and a group of PhD students from the Doctoral Training Centre in Low Carbon Technologies. The Green Impact Team have put in exceptional efforts from 2010-2014 to gain Green Impact Accreditation for the Institute and next year, they will be going for gold!
