Edinburgh International Science Festival

On 18th April, a team of Low Carbon Technologies and Bioenergy CDT students were invited to Edinburgh for the International Science Festival. The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (www.edinburghcentre.org) was hosting a weekend of special events around the theme of a ‘Low Carbon Future’ including a talk from Robert Llewellyn of ‘Red Dwarf’ and ‘Scrapheap Challenge’ fame. Leeds' CDT students were involved in a range of activities that have been developed for the Royal Academy of Engineering graphic novel project ‘Dreams of a Low Carbon Future’. Copies of the graphic novel were given to visitors, and input was gathered from members of the public for the sequel to ‘Dreams of a Low Carbon Future’ which will be a graphic novel visualising life in the UK in a positive, low carbon, sustainable society in 2150AD.
