Professor Peter Taylor Chairs the Launch of the RCUK Energy Strategy Fellowship Report

Professor Peter Taylor from the Centre for Integrated Energy Research chaired the launch on 12 November of the RCUK Energy Strategy Fellowship report 'Investing in a Brighter Energy Future: Energy Research and Training Prospectus' at the Royal Society, London. The report is the culmination of 18 months’ work by an independent team established by the Research Councils and led by Prof. Jim Skea of Imperial College. It sets out the background to the UK’s energy R&D needs, identifies priority research challenges and recommends ways in which the UK’s research and innovation bodies can meet these challenges. Key among its recommendations are that the UK needs to improve its co-ordination of energy R&D and ensure that the resources allocated match its ambitious energy and climate change policies. Prof. Taylor contributed to the report through his role as chair of the Advisory Group to the Energy Strategy Fellowship.
