SCAPE Team-building Walk

The traditional SCAPE team-building walk took place on 7th July. The walk this year was based at Settle in the beautiful heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The weather was grim and drizzly to start with, but turned out fine – perfect walking weather. There was a steep hill to begin with, which generated a few complaints, but easy going after that. The parties divided, with some returning to Settle by way of an easy stroll along the river. The rest of the students and staff walked up onto the limestone plateau to the Attermire Scar caves and had the opportunity to squeeze through a muddy tunnel at Jubilee cave! Past Wet Cave, Victoria Cave (an Ice Age hyena den!), spectacular rock formations at Warrendale Knotts, then back down to Settle and the Talbot Arms for a well-earned drink. An enjoyable time had by all.
