Sustainable Production Systems with Climate-KIC Summer School

CDT Bioenergy student Jeni Spragg attended a summer school on Sustainable Production Systems with Climate-KIC. Climate-KIC is Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership focussed on climate change, whose mission is to bring together, inspire and empower a dynamic community to build a zero carbon economy and climate resilient society. Summer school attendees worked with the chemicals company AkzoNobel and an industrial park infrastructure provider, Infraserv Höchst, to explore how cross-company collaboration in the chemicals industry can shape innovation and accelerate the transition to a circular economy. This included site visits to AkzoNobel’s R&D centre in Gothenburg, and an industrial park in Frankfurt which is home to over 90 companies and 21,000 employees.
